How do you remove a basketball hoop?

I have an old rusty in-ground basketball hoop system, the pole and stuff in a cement cylinder in the ground. Is there a [convenient] way to get rid of it?|||I assume it's a steel post? If so, get a 9" grinder with a metal cutting wheel and zip it off at ground level. It would take me less than 5 minutes so it shouldn't take a novice too much longer. Be careful it doesn't grab on the blade or it could rip your arms clean out of their sockets. Or better yet, get a blow torch a burn it off! Be sure to use a cigar to light the torch though. Your neighbours will be really impressed.|||Play lumberjack and chop it down.|||i love the above answer..
