There's a basketball court near my house and I want to start using it, but I don't want too look *too* obviously like a beginner when other people are around.
So I'm thinking I'm going to start to practice at 4 in the morning until I get the hang out of the basic stuff. (What are they?)|||ok listen up....its simple..practice... dont be afraid of lookin stupid or anything like that b/c we all started the same way and we all continue to make and miss shots. there are many training and technique methods on youtube that you can find. start with the basics:layups, left hand and right hand dribble and layup, and slidding ur feet on defense. that alone will get you a pick up game. start there and keep practicing and you will be fine|||Its all about formation, make sure you are shooting the ball the right way. Everyone has there own style but the best formation i think is by putting your left hand on the side of the ball to aim, and the right hand in front. And when you shoot you aim with the left, and "flick" your right hand. For farther shots you may have to jump but practice that. If you still don't understand look at how most NBA players shoot, that should give you an example.|||learn the proper shooting form (on youtube or ihoops). Work on that and dribbling without looking at the ball with either hand.
Those are the two most basic skills that you can really work on by yourself.
Things like passing and defensive footwork come with game experience.|||practice ur shooting hand position skills, watch you tube, and also try to dribble in ur dominant side, either left or right. try those 2 things first.|||try shooting and doing squats
