I know I have to practice. I want nobody saying that I need to practice. I only need help with planning practice so I will be on the fast track to success. If you are a coach give me some help. Plus I play on the middle school B-team, but I want to practice at at a proffessional or College level. I also want advice on planning and guidelines for the whole practice and all skill involved with basketball.|||Here is a sample of the individual practices that my team used in college:
Stretch, Warm-Up shooting, ball handling drills, shooting drills (shoot shots that a player at your position would shoot), jump rope (quickness and jumping). You can find the drills online, buy a book, steal them from a camp. The important thing is to set a goal, i.e. 300 jump shots, 50 free throws, and 15 minutes of jumping rope, and stick to it. Developing your physical ability is going to be almost as important as developing your skills.|||So you want to get better fast. 1) Run and work-out. This makes it hard for other players to keep up and easier to finish plays in the paint. 2) Find players better than you and play with them even if you know you are gonna lose. Just don't give up. 3) Play with as many different people as you can. This gives you more experience in different situations. 4) Find some people who will team up against you and play against them by yourself. You'll get a lot better at one-on-X situations. 5) Never give-up and try to make things as hard as possible except don't lift too much.
These are what helped me go from not making JV in 9th grade to starting Varsity point gaurd this year (10th grade).|||IM a middle skool player 2 and my team kills.the best thing to do is run lots of drills.thats the best way to improve at somthing. it worked for us .another thing is to have a nice formed shot.make sure ur hands are perfect and have a great stance.a good drill for shooting it to have some1 run at u and shoot when there close.lots of working out it can get u stronger so when i drive u can ocer power people.run alot,um here is a drill that helps more aspects of basketball
Shoot a lay-up. Get the ball. Dribble down to the other side of the court and shoot another lay-up at full speed. Get the ball. Dribble down to the other side and shoot any shoot you want. Get the rebound. Dribble down to the other side and shoot another shot. Keep on doing this. (practice dribbling as you go down the court).
Variations
Do it with two people and have one play defense (like full court 1-on-1).
Skills
Ballhandling, conditioning, shooting.|||At your age, I saw stick with the fundamentals for now and work on your balance, agility, etc. but not too much weight lifting just yet. Go to your doctor and tell him what you want to do and the frequency of your training/practicing. He'll let you know whether or not you can lift weights (yet) or have anything that you need to take care of first, basically he'll clear you to do whatever you want. As for the practicing, you can get a shooting and dribbling coach but those cost money. If you know someone on the local high school or college team that will help you then go ahead and ask or even ask the coach to let you participate (he may ask you to help out though) and just so you know coachs and especially college players do not have much time on their hands, so know that before hand. For the training you're going to want to do a lot of football, track and basketball drills (especially plyometrics). You can google plenty of workouts, drills and believe it or not your nutrition will be key in getting in even better shape, so you may have to change your diet. Also for the practice part, for now just practice after school and your homework with proper shooting form, dribbling, and your jump shot with the training (plyometrics and such) doing every other day or even less for now since you're still young.
