How to prepare myself for basketball team tryouts that are coming up soon?

I want to be in fit basketball shape by the time the try outs come around. I heard it would be around December.


What should I start doing now to be ready by then?|||Prey to the gods that u can kick some ***.....oh ya working out prolly wouldnt hurt|||Running is essential to make basketball teams! Coaches love players who run an hustle hard. Also, free throws and good defense.

|||RUN!!!!! And defensive shuffles.|||You need to be light on your feet. I would run every other day until the tryouts. And then also practice free throws.|||My try-outs are coming up too. I am going after school 3 days a week for 2 hours to practice. I have also been shooting three-throws out in my front yard. Me and my friend are going to probably start running around the neighborhood soon!


Good Luck!|||I would say get use to running. Try running a mile or so to get you use to moving all the time. I would also recommend practice free throws. Try playing in some pick up games if available so you can get comfortable with the concept of team basketball. Also, if you dont know the coach or if you do contact them and tell them you are going out for the team when tryouts come valuable and you wanted to know what they would recommend u do.
