My basketball team is running a basketball camp, and I'm not too sure what work outs to make the kids (ages 6-12) do, I mean, I don't want them running and doing lay ups the whole time. They are supposed to work out from 8am-noon, and I really can't think of any fundamental things to teach them. Can you give me a few options to choose from, like YMCA-type work outs?
Thanks a bunch.|||Have them run dribbling drills
Up the court once with one hand
then back with the other
then go up again alternating to both hands.
Passing drills too.
Chest and bounce passing.
Have them line up and pass the ball
to someone opposite of them and switch
between both of the passing types
Those are some fundamentals i can think of
for players of that age range.
Hope these help :P|||go to http://www.ihoops.com/ it has a great deal of training for youth, have fun with the kids
