BAskeTBALl!?

Well im 13 and since im going into hs next year i want to try out for the basketball team. Since practice for my team is almost over i decided to start practicing at home for 3 hours a day. can someone give me some good drills to do besides basics like shooting dribbling .

btw im 5 foot 1 i play pointguard|||you could set up some targets for passing to because i play power forward and im also 13 but im 5' 9" and i know what a point guard needs to do because i actually used to play point guard for community basketball. but try to set up targets and once you get consistent with those passes try more difficult ones. and if you have other people to play b-ball with you you could just play against them that helps you improve a lot. (i played A - Team)...so consider what i said|||here's some drills copy and paste these to the search bar http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Xp2cdiTxhg

|||try to work on your speed, its something every point guard needs... I would also try to play as much pick up ball as possible being a point guard you need to actually face competition to work on handling pressure and making good decisions. As a PG your decision making is going to decide your fate. Finally I would try and play with kids on the team, knowing the capabilties of everyone around you and getting familar with them is only going to help. Hope this helps.|||about the passing, another way is to draw a small x on the wall and try to hit it (may be easier than setting up targets). however, i don't think it is time efficient to practice passing like that. passing is mostly reading the defense and being able to make quick decisions. about dribbling, there are thousands of drills, pick some, master them and then pick new ones and master them etc. also, make sure you practice your moves too. what i do is for half the time, i pick a move i want to master (right now crossover) and spend half the time working on that and the other half on all other moves. i put a chair out and do a move past it and finish. you should also practice finishing. practice layups, reverse layups, floaters, using your left, short bank shots, mikan drill etc. then the rest of the time you should practice shooting. i like to start off with a form shooting game +5-5 where you get +1 you swish it, -1 if you get it in but don't swish it and -2 if you miss. i do this form shooting until i win the game twice. idk about you but for some reason, if i don't warm up good i shoot badly so for me this is very important. then after i win twice i shoot one handed moving back a step every time i make it until i get to about the foul line. then it's just all about geting as many shots up as you can. i like to think of games, like i try to hit one in a row, then two in a row then three and make my way to ten. good luck. also, use this for working out...

http://www.sport-fitness-advisor.com/bas鈥?/a>|||im 13 and 5'2 also play point guard. do all those dribbling drills. they really help u break down traps the other team puts on you. if you play with older people and practice with people who are better than u, you'll be fine|||u could start practing ur passing, alley opp pass???, and maybe u can even start practing ur stealing, blocking, and rebbounding or jumping
